Biographie

Prof Ornella Corazza, Ph.D is Professor of Addiction Science at the University of Trento (Italy) and at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), where she leads multidisciplinary research teams looking at clinical and psychopathological implications of drugs and other behavioural addictions. Results of her work have been presented in over 300 peer-reviewed publications, books, policy reports, invited lectures and media appearances. Her academic achievements have been recognized with various prizes and award nominations, including the prestigious 2013 European Health Award. Professor Corazza is the President of the International Society for the Study of Emerging Drugs (ISSED) and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal for Emerging Trends in Drugs, Addictions, and Health (Elsevier). She is a a co-opted member of the Internet-Facilitated Drug Markets Working Group for the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) and serves as an expert advisor for national policy makers as well as international organisations (United Nation Office on Drugs and Crime; European Monitoring Agency for Drug and Drug Addictions, World Anti-Doping Agency). The basic theme of her research is to find new strategies to overcome addictions in society, while promoting multidisciplinary approaches and international cooperation for a major global impact on citizens’ health and security.
