Didier Jutras-Aswad is an Addiction Psychiatrist and Chief of Staff of the Department of Psychiatry at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). He is an associate professor at the Université de Montréal (UdeM) and President of the UdeM Expertise and collaboration centre in concurrent disorders. He is a principal scientist at the CHUM research centre where his work focuses on substance use disorders and comorbid conditions, particularly mental health disorders. He leads clinical trials at the national level, focusing on the development and evaluation of interventions and models of care for these conditions. He is a principal investigator with the Canadian Research Initiative in Substance Misuse (CRISM); he led the first CRISM pan Canadian multisite clinical trial, OPTIMA, that focused on testing a flexible model of care for prescription opioid use disorder. He is the lead investigator of the ASCME trial, a CRISM national randomized controlled trial of interventions for methamphetamine use disorder.
